  • Overview

    The Back Shop 2 (Senior Attendant) will be working at the Miskanaw Golf Club as a support to the overall day to day operations of the facility. Under the Supervision of the CPGA Head Professional, the Back Shop 2 (Senior Attendant) will provide customer services to golf patrons as well as maintain a well-organized and clean back shop. This position also requires work in Marshalling and Starting on the golf course.

     

    Position Type: 1 Seasonal Part-Time and 3 full time seasonal Positions Available

    Anticipated Start Date: April 15, 2018 and May 1st, 2018

    Anticipated End Date:   October 1 2018

    Pay Rate: $17.68/hr

    The Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo, is a not-for-profit company, operating recreational facilities in the Wood Buffalo Region. The flag ship complex, MacDonald Island Park is Canada's largest community recreational, leisure, and social centre. Home to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre, Miskanaw Golf Club and Shell Place, MacDonald Island Park works under the umbrella of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. 

     

    Responsibilities

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Driving Range duties: Picking range balls and related cleaning and cleanliness of general driving range area (range tees, garbage, etc)
    • Power cart duties: Parking carts in order, washing and cleaning carts, basic maintenance (flat tires, gassing, etc) and monitor carts for maintenance issues
    • General cleaning : Sweeping/cleaning of outside area (from driving range to end of cart area), back shop cleaning and organizing and cleaning of rental and club storage clubs
    • Answering customer questions (referring to pro shop, front desk, etc)
    • Perform all closing duties as outlined in the standards of service booklet
    • Marshalling: Taking a tee sheet onto the course to check pace of play. Includes interacting with the customer making them aware if their pace.
    • Starting: Acting as a starter on the 1st tee making sure everything is running on time.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Enrolled in High School
    • Must be 15 years of age or older

     

    Essential Skills & Experience:

    • Customer service skills with a minimum of  6 months of customer service experience

     

    Desirable Skills and Experience:

    • Ability to drive small vehicles (golf cart and range picker unit)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS &WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Ability to lift golf bags weighing between 50-60 pounds and approximately 5 feet up for storage.
    • One (1) month of experience is anticipated for employees to completely familiarize themselves with Miskinaw Golf Club facility, policies and procedures.
