  • Overview

    The Box Office Reservations & Rentals (BORR) works under direct supervision of Supervisor, Box Office, Reservations & Rentals who supervises the operations of the Box Office at the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo facilities and all related activities.  The BORR incumbent will also work closely with multiple internal departments as well as external customers to ensure that reservations are managed effectively. BORR is a key front line position that must ensure that every customer interaction is carried out in a professional, courteous and efficient manner. BORR performs customer service to the community and to the internal staff of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo through ticketing, Birthday Party Bookings, rentals and reservations. This individual is also responsible for the good flow of communication amongst the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo departments and with the public.

     

    Employment Type: 1 Part time Position Available

    Pay Rate: $25.23/hour ($1 less while on probation)

    Anticipated Start Date: April  2018

    Responsibilities

    • Strong working knowledge of Reservation bookings within Northstar
    • Extensive knowledge and practical use experience with Box Office Ticketing System (SPECTRA)
    • Supports administrative functions for the MI Dance Academy (as needed)
    • Effectively manages Golf Reservations system
    • Handles Birthday Party Rentals
    • Pre-entered program checks for internal departments
    • Assists customers with purchasing and/or picking up tickets.
    • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the services, amenities\facilities, locations, promotional activities and comfort tools of the Regional Recreation Corporation facilities.
    • Proactively seek opportunities to create memorable customer interactions, assist customers and provide excellent service;
    • Provide proactive customer service and maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times.
    • Supports internal departments within RRC by providing assigned administrative tasks including but not limited to: data entry, filing, assisting with event coordination, and various organizational tasks and administrative projects.
    • Maintains a neat and professional appearance. Caring attitude and a calm and confident manner.
    • Establishes a cooperative/collaborative working relationship with other departments within the RRC
    • Processes payment for facility rentals & reservations
    • Participates as a member of the Box Office & Reservations team, taking part in identifying and improving processes for the Box Office & Reservations department, and shares responsibility for effective internal communications through a team approach.
    • Maintains efficient and effective flow of information with guests and all internal departments.
    • Sells concert and event tickets through the Box Office.
    • Handles additional duties as assigned by Supervisor, Box Office & Reservations.
    • Supports the Sales & Events department with basic functions to include event notification signage and providing various assistance on an as needed basis.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • High School Diploma
    • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.

     

     

    Essential Skills and Experience:

    • At least one (1) year of experience in customer service environment.
    • One (1) year of administrative experience an asset.
    • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment, with the ability to multi –task while maintaining a high level of professionalism
    • Ability to demonstrate service excellence to include compassion, empathy, and support.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills are necessary to interact with a diverse and multicultural community.
    • Basic to intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel, ability to utilize the internet, check company e-mail, and quickly learn and use company related computer systems.

    • Ability to prioritize and manage several job functions at one time. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills.
    • Maintain working knowledge of company policies and procedures.
    • Experience in handling money;

    Desirable Skills and Experience:

    • Experience with CLASS
    • Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or equivalent experience an asset
    • Experience in recreational facilities
    • Experience handling money
    • Strong sense of professionalism and diplomacy
    • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS &WORKING CONDITIONS:

     

    • Due to the cyclical nature of the recreational facility; employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the facility.
    • The Box Office GSR & Golf Reservations employee will be working in the Box Office where there is desk sitting for extended periods of time viewing computer screen with moderate to high noise level.
    • Manual and finger dexterity to use desktop computer and peripherals and some lifting up to 25 lbs. is required
    • This position may require travel between our various facilities within the Wood Buffalo Region. Access to reliable transportation is necessary.
